One Month To Live

Today our church began a spiritual campaign called “One Month To Live.”  My challenge for our church and for me personally is to live like we knew we were dying.  For the next 30 days I’m going to attempt to live like they are going to be my last days on this earth.  If we dare accept the challenge, imagine how different our lives would be.  Imagine the effort we would put toward our marriage and relationships.  Just the thought of it excites me.

I’m tired of saying I’ll began tomorrow.  Or someday when life slows down, I’ll have the time I need to spend with my wife or my children.  The fact is that life will never slow down.  It will fly by so fast that many of us will never experience the rich and satisfying life that Jesus promised in John 10:10.

So for the next 30 days, I’m going to make my best attempt to live my life as if I were dying and share my journey on this blog.  As far as today is concerned, I had an amazing lunch with some friends from church, saw a chick-flick with my wife at the movie theater, turned on the fire place (which I rarely can afford to do), put down the Xbox and now I’m going to go spend some time with Deena.

Lord, may these next 30 days make us more alive than ever!
