This Sunday I’m going to be teaching about “Spiritual Fitness.” So many people are obsessed with physical exercise and staying physically fit. By the way, we should be physically fit and we should exercise in order to take care of our bodies, that what we have talked about for the past two weeks. However, I have witnessed too many people failing to exercise spiritually. First of all, many people fail to eat a proper diet spiritually. We rely on the world’s expertise and the world’s advice to life’s problems and questions instead of looking to God’s word. God’s word is our meal plan. It will give us all the spiritual nourishment that we will ever need. God’s word will encourage us and inspire us to correctly handle all of life’s problems.
When it comes to exercise, I have seen too many people claim to be followers of Christ, yet they are not exercising their belief. They are not putting God’s word into practice in their daily lives. When we take in God’s food, His word, we are to burn those spiritual calories by exercising what we have learned. When we both take in God’s word and begin to apply what we have learned, then we will become fit spiritually.
I am so passionate about the message for this Sunday. I hope this message will inspire all of us to become spiritually fit and allow us to truly worship God in spirit and truth. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
