On Vacation!

We arrived in Birchwood, TN last night after an eleven hour journey with our 16 month old grandchild.  Let me just say that she was amazing!  She sleep for about an hour but the rest of the time she was fine.  It was actually an enjoyable trip and we were able to have some fun with Jeremy as they wrote about a dozen madlibs!  You’ll have to ask Deena about those madlibs.  After a long drive, is was great to to walk outside and not smell the smoke that we have been so accustomed to over the past couple of months in Chesapeake.

Today, I was able to finish my book that I started this week.  The book was really good and exactly what I needed.  It’s called “Spiritual Life: The Foundation for Preaching and Teaching.”  The point of the book was how could a preacher or teacher of God’s word possible teach something he’s not doing.  As pastors and teachers, we have to be living the Spiritual Life before we can lead others to live the Spiritual life.  This book helped me to understand how to have a deeper and more intimate time with God.  I hope to share some of it’s insights over the next couple of days.

  1. It sounds like your grandbaby is a good baby! We traveled to TN once while we lived in Chesapeake and our son “Bo” was 10 months old, I think he cried about 3 hours. Hope you vacation is wonderful!
