Biggest Loser Contest!

tape-measure.jpgOur staff are currently entering our 9th week of our Biggest Loser contest.  I can only speak of myself, but I’ve really been challenged and stretched during this competition.  (I’m not really competitive, am I?)  Getting up early every morning takes a lot of discipline.  Not only getting up early, but pushing myself to actually work hard while I’m exercising is a challenge.  During my last chance workout this week, all I could hear was one of our cycling trainers yelling at me to ‘Keep pushing, don’t quit, you can do it!’  And he wasn’t even around.  I must admit that being able to fit in clothes that I haven’t been in for two years is really nice and it motivates me to keep moving forward.  As of this week, I’ve lost 22 lbs.  That’s the weight of my granddaughter that’s one year old!  Wow!  One of the things that I have enjoyed from this contest is that I’m meeting some great people.  I have enjoyed talking to them and cutting up with them.  I really look forward to building some great friendships as I continue to keep physically fit.  I wonder how fit we are spiritually?  What if you and I committed as much time to God as we do to working out.  What if we were as passionate about knowing God as we are about being in shape physically?  I know that I need to be even more disciplined spiritually.  Something I have learned is that it’s easier when you are doing it with a group of people.  They challenge you to go further, to grow, to work hard and to be committed.  I can’t wait to see what God completes in me spiritually and physically.
